Busyness is a drug.
It gives the illusion of productivity, but often it's just noise.
Let's face it: We're in a culture that celebrates the hustle. But is every hustle fruitful?
Think about running on a treadmill. Lots of sweat, lots of motion. But you're still in the same spot.
Activity is not a synonym for results.
Just because your calendar is full doesn't mean your day is productive.
Steve Jobs was known for saying "no" more often than "yes".
Why? To keep Apple's focus sharp, to ensure every step was forward.
It's easy to be busy. It's challenging to be effective.
So, what's the antidote to this busyness drug? Intention.
Before diving into tasks, ask: Is this taking me closer to my goal? Or is it just motion for the sake of motion?
A packed schedule might feel rewarding. But at the end of the day, it's outcomes that count.
Here's the takeaway: Busyness can be addictive. But real progress comes from focused, purposeful action. Choose wisely where you invest your time.
