Let’s Discuss
The myth of influence says that if only you get big enough, loud enough, famous enough, you'll be influential. More followers, more clicks, more eyeballs.
But try this… forget the vanity metrics.
Don't ask:
How big is my audience?
How many likes did I get?
Ask:
How have I helped people become their best selves?
How have I lifted others up?
Teal influence isn't something you can buy or own. It flows from service, not self-promotion.
From showing up day after day to make things a little better, a little brighter.
Have you solved an interesting problem lately? Shared a new insight? Made a connection between two people who can help each other out?
That's influence.
Not racking up likes or gaming some algorithm.
Influence is borrowed, not bought. It comes from generosity and compassion and insight, not from a big megaphone.
Solve real problems. Share your unique knowledge and experience.
Share personal stories. Be vulnerable. Build trust.
Create community. Spotlight others. Facilitate connections.
Sure, you need an audience to be influential. But don't worry about how big it is.
Worry about how you're touching them. Uplifting them. Helping them become better versions of themselves.
That's when you'll know you really matter. When people come up to you years later and say "I'm here because you took the time."
Forget about chasing superficial metrics. If you want real influence, be irreplaceable.
Lend a hand. Share what you know. That's what changes lives.
The world doesn't need more self-important influencers.
What it needs are humble leaders who lift others up.
Who use their gifts not for greed or ego, but for service.
