Daily Thought
Price is what you pay. Value is what you get. - Warren Buffet
Let’s Discuss
Creating real value is the foundation for any successful business.
But in the race to monetize ideas, it's easy to skip ahead right to spreadsheets without doing the groundwork.
So if you have a new idea you want to turn into a money-making business, start by identifying actual human struggles.
What pain points currently have poor solutions?
Talk to real people, dig into communities, find out what problems they face daily. Empathize, don't assume.
Now ponder how your concept might alleviate those pains better than current options. Brainstorm creative ways not just to solve problems, but to delight people.
If you only match existing solutions, you have no spark.
Next, design experiences for people first - never start by designing business models for your own profit.
Envision how your solution would meaningfully improve lives before envisioning how you’ll get paid.
Deliver joy, meaning, enrichment - deliver value.
Do that exceptionally well at scale, and monetization models will flow naturally.
People gladly pay for offerings that make their lives markedly better.
But without underlying value as your core foundation, you’re just making leaky buckets - contraptions trying to extract money without giving anything useful in return. Destined to fail.
Start by identifying real human struggles.
Design to delight people and enrich lives.
Build value first, valuation second.
Do these things in this order, and sustainable success will follow.
